Lex & Cam's Wequassett Wedding

May 21, 2016

I arrived early to Lex and Cam's wedding at Wequassett Resort and Golf Club to find Lex doing handstands! Not something I see every time I walk in to photograph a wedding, but I knew at that moment this wedding was going to be special.

Although the day was overcast, I assured Lex that overcast skies make for the best photography and the most flattering, beautiful light. Sure, we most likely wouldn't get to see a sunset but it's worth it for how even and natural the light is on cloudy days. The outdoor ceremony overlooking the water was breathtaking and we were able to capture some amazing formal portraits of everyone. Some of the ladies even had some incredibly interesting dance moves (the "windshield wiper" and "binoculars" come to mind) which helped get everyone laughing.

The entire wedding party (guests included) were so laidback and easy going - it really made my job easy and that much more enjoyable (as if it wasn't enjoyable enough already!). I had an extraordinarily fun day photographing the love between Lex and Cam and I wish them many years of happiness!

Emily & Joel's Engagement Session

Last weekend I had the absolute honor of shooting an engagement session for an old friend and her fiance! I've known Emily for close to 15 years - we went to middle school and high school together. After high school, I would frequently see Emily working at her family's place of business, Barrett's Alehouse, where I never (ever) had too many beers...I swear! I was also able to meet Joel in college at Bridgewater State University where we partied...erm studied, yea studied...a lot together.

Emily reached out to me a few months ago looking to book me for her upcoming wedding at Olde Scotland Links and I was giddy with excitement at the opportunity to shoot this amazing couple's wedding. I was elated when they decided to book me on the spot!

I shot their engagement session on the morning of Emily's Kentucky Derby themed bridal shower and she had the awesome and unique idea to shoot the session at Dorbill Stables in Bridgewater. We were able to get some super cool photos in and around the barn...until the horses stopped digging my camera equipment. Although we had permission to shoot there, we ultimately decided it would be best to no longer disrupt the business (and horses) and wrap up the session at War Memorial Park in West Bridgewater

From there, I followed Emily to her bridal shower and got some super fun photos of her and her bridesmaids in their beautiful Kentucky Derby hats. All in all, it was a really fun morning and I think everyone enjoyed the session!

The photos below are a few select highlights from their session. If you'd like to view ALL of the photo from their engagement shoot (and you totally should!) please click here.
