An engagement session is more than beautiful portraits — it's the best way to get comfortable in front of a camera before your wedding day. We'll find a location meaningful to you, spend an hour or two together, and you'll walk away with stunning images and a lot more confidence for what's ahead.
The camera gets
less scary every time.
Most couples tell me they're nervous in front of a camera. By the end of an engagement session, almost none of them are. That shift — from stiff and self-conscious to relaxed and natural — is exactly what makes wedding portraits feel authentic rather than posed. And it happens because we've already been through it together once.
Your engagement session is also the source material for your guest book. Those images go directly onto the pages that sit at your reception while your guests sign in. There's something genuinely special about walking into your own wedding and seeing portraits of yourself and your partner on display — images that were made when it was just the two of you, before the day got started.
An hour or two,
just the three of us.
Sessions typically run 60–90 minutes. I work within about 30 miles and have a go-to list of locations I love — beaches, parks, city streets, and a few hidden spots most people don't know about. Most couples look to me for guidance on location and I'm happy to help find the perfect fit. If you have somewhere meaningful in mind, I'm always open to it.
Wear something you feel good in — not necessarily formal, just something you'd be comfortable moving and laughing in. Bring your dog if you have one. Plan to be a little awkward for the first ten minutes and completely at ease by the end. That's how it always goes, and the images from that second half are always the ones you'll want to print.
